Sales engineers demonstrate and sell technical products to companies, institutions or individual buyers. They are usually sent to previous clients to probe into the clients’ needs and further explain how the products of the company can help. They assist clients with the products they purchased and are also in contact with the research and development of their company for product assessment and improvement. Engineering Educational requirements are listed below.
• An undergraduate engineering degree
• A concentration in one of the following areas: electrical, civil, mechanical, computer, chemical, or biomedical engineering
• A license in the field of engineering he or she specializes in
• Three to five years f relevant experience in sales and the area of specialization
• Should have taken subjects like communication, computer science, marketing, economics, sales education
• Trainings, seminars and volunteer experiences in sales and marketing are optional but are sometimes required.
